Clear Braces in Merchantville - Invisalign® - Invisible Aligners Near Cherry Hill, NJ
Crooked teeth can have a negative impact on both oral health and self-esteem, but the prospect of wearing metal braces for several years is a big deterrent for people who want to improve their smile. With Invisalign®, however, you can improve your smile without the inconveniences of a mouth full of metal braces. Our Cherry Hill dentist, Dr. Gary Sapienza
offers the clear brace alternative to patients looking for a more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing orthodontic experience.
How Invisalign® Works
The Invisalign® system uses a series of clear aligners to gently and gradually move teeth to the targeted position. The technologically advanced aligner system utilizes unique mouth trays made from sturdy medical-grade plastic. The trays are custom-fit for each patient, who receives a series of up to 28 tray sets, each of which is in succession to slowly shift your teeth into the desired position. The trays are worn 22 hours a day, and by switching out to a new set every two weeks, patients will begin to see the results in a short period of time.
Invisalign® can be used as a stand-alone orthodontic treatment, or as part of a multifaceted full mouth restoration that includes other procedures such as veneers, bridges, or dental implants.
Benefits of using Invisalign® include: improved confidence during treatment with nearly invisible aligners, accelerated treatment time, no diet restrictions and an improved ability to maintain brushing and flossing routine.
During Your Treatment
The Invisalign® system requires an office checkup every six to eight weeks so our Cherry Hill dentist can examine your progress and hand out the next few sets of aligners. Because the trays are removable, we can easily address any other dental issues that might arise during your treatment period.
Prior to using Invisalign®, Dr. Sapienza will examine your oral health and care for decay or damage to the teeth prior to starting treatment. When Invisalign® is used as a part of a full mouth restoration, other components of your long-term care will be completed after your orthodontic treatment is complete. New crowns, bridges, dental implants or veneers are most successful when placed after your natural teeth are in their final alignment.
